We are seeking a highly experienced Fixed Income Sales Trader to cover Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) regions including Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, and other key markets. The ideal candidate will have an established network with local counterparties, deep knowledge of SSA fixed income instruments (sovereigns, government bonds, and other related products) and a strong track record of executing trades in emerging markets. This role is based in Madrid with an established and reputable Emerging Markets investment bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Trading: Actively trade and sell fixed income products, including sovereign bonds, government securities (govies) and other debt instruments across SSA regions.
• Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local counterparties, institutional investors, asset managers and sovereign entities in SSA.
• Market Coverage: Provide clients with market insights, pricing, trade execution and liquidity solutions.
• Execution: Efficiently execute client orders and manage risk in line with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.
• Networking: Expand the bank’s footprint in SSA by leveraging existing relationships and developing new ones.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: 4-5+ years in Fixed Income Sales Trading with a focus on SSA markets.
• Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of SSA sovereign bonds, government securities (govies), and other fixed income products.
• Network: Proven relationships with local banks, institutional investors and sovereign clients in Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, and other SSA regions.
• Willingness to be based in Madrid, Spain.
• Experience executing trades in volatile emerging markets.
• Languages: Fluency in English required; additional languages (French, Portuguese) are a plus.
