Our client is looking to expand their emerging markets division with the addition of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Emerging Markets Special Situations Analyst, with a strong focus on distressed assets.

Role Overview:
As an Emerging Markets Special Situations Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying, analysing and managing distressed assets across emerging markets. You will play a pivotal role in analysing investment strategies, conducting in-depth research and providing actionable insights to help clients navigate complex situations in volatile markets. The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of direct experience in emerging markets and distressed, with a keen understanding of macroeconomic trends and geopolitical risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and evaluate distressed assets, with a focus on emerging markets special situations.
• Conduct comprehensive financial modeling, due diligence and valuation assessments for clients.
• Provide insights into macroeconomic, sector-specific and political risks that may impact client investment decisions.
• Collaborate with clients and internal sales team to advise on best investment strategies.
• Monitor ongoing investments, providing updates and recommendations as market conditions evolve.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, investors and industry experts.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in emerging markets, with a focus on distressed assets and special situations.
• Strong analytical skills and proven experience in financial modeling and valuation.
• In-depth understanding of macroeconomic, geopolitical and financial market trends impacting emerging markets.
• Experience working in a capital markets or investment banking environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong network within the emerging markets and distressed assets space is highly desirable.
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, or related field (CFA qualification preferred but not essential).
