Platinum & Partners is retained by a top-tier global hedge fund to identify an experienced engineer for a small, highly selective systematic macro investment team in Chicago or New York. THE ROLE
- Design and build next-generation research and trading systems for global systematic macro strategies
- Develop tools and infrastructure for low-latency, microstructure-level research and live trading
- Design and implement scalable, distributed pipelines for machine learning training and inference
- Perform data analysis and produce live and historical analytics reports and dashboards
- Stay current on state-of-the-art technologies, technical libraries and computing environments — and bring that knowledge into the team
- Collaborate directly with the Senior Portfolio Manager and trading group across the full investment and research process — this is a transparent, high-trust environment
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related STEM field
- Strong programming experience in both C++ and Python — the emphasis is on robust, performant and clean code, not just getting things to work
- Experience with large-scale data processing and modern machine learning frameworks
- Experience building production trading infrastructure and/or large-scale quantitative research platforms
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills
