HFT Prop Desk. 6–12 months. New York or Greenwich, Connecticut (on-site).

A high-frequency proprietary trading desk is seeking a Senior Low-Latency C++ Developer to work directly on their core execution stack, order routing, market data handlers and OMS, embedded alongside the engineering team ahead of a new strategy rollout. This is one of the more demanding C++ contracts in the US market right now and requires genuine trading-floor pedigree.

Candidates must have hands-on low-latency C++ experience gained inside HFT, a systematic prop desk, or an electronic market-making firm operating in live US markets. Experience from other industries, however technically strong, will not be considered. The client runs at nanosecond-level latency and needs engineers who understand the execution consequences of their code, not just the language.

What they need:

→ 5+ years low-latency C++ in HFT, systematic prop desk, or electronic market-making

→ Expert C++17/20 - lock-free queues, memory ordering, SIMD, cache-line optimisation

→ Kernel bypass networking: DPDK, Solarflare, or equivalent

→ CPU affinity, NUMA topology, IRQ isolation

→ Direct experience on live execution infrastructure, order routing, market data, or OMS, in a production US trading environment

→ Familiarity with US venue connectivity (CME, Nasdaq, CBOE) and co-location beneficial
